Atlantis Festive Season switch-on of lights and Night Market

The annual switching on of the Festive Season lights and Night Market will take place in Atlantis on 15-16 December 2022. This popular event will include performances by local artists and economic opportunities for local businesses. 

The annual switching on of the Festive Season lights will be hosted by Subcouncil 1 and will take place at 18:00 on Thursday, 15 December 2022. A Night Market will also be held on 15 December 2022 from 17:00 to 24:00 and 16 December 2022 from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Atlantis Taxi Rank, Wesfleur Circle, in Wesfleur.

Local traders will have the opportunity to sell their wares including various arts and crafts, festive season gifts, clothing and other items. In addition, the Night Festival will feature performances by local artists from Atlantis and the surrounding areas on 15 December. Entry to the Night Market is free, and all are welcome.

'The City is committed to increasing economic opportunities in communities and the Night Market promotes local trading opportunities ahead of the festive season. It's also an opportunity for the residents of Atlantis to come together as a community and join in the year-end festivities,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Corporate Services, Alderman Theresa Uys.
